The Ketchikan Community Concert Band meets during the spring and fall semesters, taking the summer off. We rehearse each Monday night from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the McPherson Music studio. There are usually two concerts per year, one in the spring and one just before Christmas.

The main outreach program of the KCCB is to support and foster the love of instrumental music in the youth of our community. First, and most obvious, our concerts are free of charge to any young person 18 years of age or under. We hope this will encourage lots of our youth to attend the concerts. Of course, it doesn’t hurt if they bring a parent too! Second, we have approached the community to donate those unused band instruments that may be lurking in the back of a closet. Currently, we have 19 instruments placed in four schools.
